Hebrew School Options
The Tribeca Hebrew school year has drawn to a close and we have received many inquiries from you relating to next year. Several have expressed a desire for information about the options the Board previously explored and so we share them here.
It is still our hope that the community will move together to JCP and we hope you have had the chance to visit one of their Open Houses. They will have another on June 22 at 5pm. On June 15 at 3pm there will be a pizza party and ice cream social for parents and children. The application deadline is June 30, 2009 for the 2009-2010 school year. To find out more about the Mechina 1-day/week program, you may speak with Talia Andron, Director of the program at Talia@jcpdowntown.org or 212-334-3522. You can find out information about the curriculum and download your application at www.jcpdowntown.org.
In addition to the JCP, the Board explored relationships with The Village Temple and Synagogue for the Arts. If you would like to look into these options for your family, please contact those organizations directly. Their information is shown below. Another common inquiry relates to the availabilty of Hebrew tutoring. We have two former members of our teaching staff who are available for tutoring and we would encourage you to contact them to discuss your tutoring needs.
Synagogue for the Arts. SFTA's Hebrew School meets on Monday afternoons. You may find out more about it here or contact Gail Nalven, Education Director, or Rabbi Glass at 212-966-7141 or info@synagogueforthearts.org. They will be having an Open House for prospective families on Monday, June 8 from 5-7pm. Light refreshments will be served.
The Village Temple. You may contact Alex Tansky, Director of Education at 212-674-2340 x 4 or atansky@villagetemple.org. Visit the Village Temple's website here.
Tutoring. Dani and Jill are available for the summer and fall.
Thank you,
The Tribeca Hebrew Board
